This Poor Pit Bull Lived Next To A Highway Before Rescuers Saved Him From Horror

Mr.Dog — Wed, 09 Dec 2015 23:10:20 +0000

Los Angeles freeways are known for their high speeds, unbelievable congestion, and all-around craziness. They’re daunting to drive on, but this lonely pit bull faced a far scarier reality — he lived in an abandoned lot right next to one. Every day, it was a struggle to not only find food, but also to avoid falling onto the road. Then, his rescuers came.

The look of fear in his eyes is so sad. He was so scared and didn’t know that these people were there to save him! Thankfully, Veyron is happy, healthy, and on the road to finding a loving forever home.

If you’d like to help make more rescues like this one possible, don’t hesitate to donate to Hope For Paws…every little bit counts!

This Dog’s Adoption Transformation Reveals The Cutie Hiding Beneath All That Fur

Mr.Dog — Thu, 23 Jul 2015 23:23:49 +0000

You know how your mom always told you not to judge a book by it’s cover? Well, she wasn’t just talking about how you should really give the geeky guy a chance instead of spending all your time daydreaming about the football player.

When this couple stumbled upon a scraggly-looking pup, he was so disheveled that he resembled more of a mini sheepdog than his handsome self. His overgrown fur was matted with dirt and grime from being lost or abandoned, but after they brought him into their family, things started looking much brighter for the sweet little guy.

This Pup Wasn’t Only Abandoned – He Was Tossed In A Dumpster And Set On Fire

Mr.Dog — Thu, 05 Mar 2015 00:28:04 +0000

The terrible things that humankind is capable of never cease to amaze me. One pup in Minnesota was recently a victim of such cruelty, and his story will absolutely break your heart.
Clayton Van Wert, a truck driver, noticed a burning dumpster in a remote area.

To his horror, when he investigated further, he found that it was a terrified, whimpering 5-month-old puppy on fire.
Van Wert sprung to action, grabbing the pup and putting the fire out, singing himself in the process.

Upon arrival at the rescue center, the pup’s fur was carefully shaved to find out what horror lay beneath.

He was badly burned, but that wasn’t the end of it.
The vets later found fire accelerant in the pup’s fur – this was no accident.

The pup weighed 19 pounds, which is only half as much as a dog his age should weigh.
Vets tried just wrapping his wounds, but the damage was so bad…

That surgery for skin grafts was necessary.

The pup was appropriately dubbed Phoenix, named after the bird that rises from its own ashes.

With 24 hour supervision, a hearty diet of cottage cheese and quinoa, and attention to his burns, this pup is headed in the right direction.

It’s still unknown who is responsible for putting this helpless, innocent bundle of love through such unnecessary pain. Besides putting the bad guy to justice, the next best thing to do is to help one of the rescue centers that has participated in Phoenix’s road to better health by donating to ACTV here. We wish Phoenix good heath and hope that once he’s all better he finds a happy, loving home.
