Boy Donates Over $1,300 to Rescue Group for His 9th Birthday

This year, instead of having people give him presents, Matthew just wanted them to donate money to Guardians of Rescue. He and his family probably never would have imagined it, but over $1,300 was raised. That is parenting done right!

“We admire when children have respect and compassion for animals,” GoR commented. “We are so thankful to you Matthew and your selfless gift. We hope you had an amazing birthday.”

Fans also were blown away by this kid’s maturity and generosity. Laurie Oakley Desantis said:

You are already helping the animals Matthew. You are an amazing young man and with adulthood you will do wonderful things; I can only imagine how long that list will be. Parents take notice, this is our future. We all strive to raise our children to be productive, caring human beings who are ready when they are sent out into this world and Matthew you are well on your [way] to take it all in. Thank you Matthew, and thank you to your mom, your dad, your family, your extended family and your friends – we all know that it takes a village to raise a child.

Matthew’s mom, Maria, was very appreciative of the praise her son received.

“This is Matthew’s mom… Thank you so much for your kind words. Matthew is sitting here reading this with us and it is just awesome.”

For Dakota’s birthday, her entire family decided to get together and throw her a party. Which you’d think would just be a small affair, especially given that she’s a dog. But instead, the family bought a huge cake and dressed Dakota up in a special birthday hat!

When they started to sing “Happy Birthday,” the excitement of the day finally got to Dakota. It sent her into a frenzy…just look how happy she was

Nine-Year-Old Spends Birthday Money on Bulletproof K-9 Vest

There are many things a nine-year-old kid might be excited to receive for his birthday – Minecraft Legos, video games, a smart balance wheel. But Ethan Flint is different. This year he decided to donate nearly $1,300 to his local police department for a bulletproof K-9 vest.

The St. Paul, Minnesota boy told his family that this year for his birthday, he wanted cash. Sounds a little demanding, but he wasn’t asking for himself – he was asking on behalf of police dogs in his area.

This is not unusual for Ethan. Since his fourth birthday he has been donating to good causes. In the past he has helped a giraffe exhibit at the Como Zoo, as well as frogs and snakes at the Minnesota Herpetological Society.

The St. Paul Police K-9 Foundation is striving to have each dog fit with a custom-made vest to help stay safe on the job. A A GoFundMe page was created by Ethan’s family, and donations flooded in.

He amassed $1,290 (half the cost of one vest), which was presented to officers in the form of homemade check.

“I think it’s outstanding – that a nine-year-old could think of something like that is remarkable,” Sergeant John Linssen told ABC News.

“A vest on a human is like a vest on a dog. It covers their body. It protects them from bullets and being stabbed.”

Well, if you ask me, I’m definitely guilty of that! Most dog lovers just love to spoil their dogs. Not only do we give our dogs what they need, we give them sweet little (and sometime big) gifts because we love to see the joy in their faces. We even treat them like royalty, like they are the kings and queens of the house!

And every royal member needs a castle to live in, right? So this English Bulldog princess got a castle from her mom for her birthday! The pink castle even has alligator toy guards at the doorway! You just gotta see her reaction when she sees it!

Could this video get any cuter? We don’t think so! Jager is celebrating his 10th birthday and he couldn’t be more excited about it and his owner was precious enough to catch it on video for the world to see. She took Jager and his sister Cosette out for a walk that morning, a little upset that her baby had reached the double-digit years and was all grown up, but Jager wasn’t having any of it! He pestered her the entire walk and was running around the house in pure joy. This rescue pup is certainly not taking any of his life for granted, as if he knows his human mom saved his life when she took him in.

Every Year, This Dog Owner Does Something So Adorable For His Pup’s Birthday

There are those out there who might judge dog mommies and daddies for treating their fur babies as if they were their, y’know, actual children. But those people are clearly lacking a fundamental part of their hearts, because, duh, dogs are just the best.

This handsome fella’s humans know exactly how to treat their great dane with all the love and occasional spoiling the big guy deserves. Every year on his birthday, no matter what, they take a break from their own lives to spend the whole day pampering their pooch with adventures, good eats, and a nice snoozefest.

His name is Duke, and if you’re like me, you’re probably already in love with him.

The day starts at the park, where Duke enjoys running around, sniffing all the wonderful smells.

He also takes the opportunity to catch up with all his little buddies.

Ah, nothing like the feel of fresh air (and bugs) in your gums on the way back from the park!

Up next: his very own birthday “cake,” cooked to medium rare perfection.

He’s patient, but something tells me he’s ready for the birthday song to be over before it starts.

Make a wish and dig in, Duke!

After all that awesome packed into one day, a nap is definitely necessary.

And then they count down the days until the next birthday extravaganza!

I have a feeling the rest of the year is still pretty special when it comes to living with this cutie. Maybe next year we can all get an invite to the party? We’d be more than happy to provide plenty of presents!

Birthdays are the best time to show your loved ones how much you care. A simple message is fine, but some prefer to really go the extra mile when they say happy birthday.

Every year, this lucky pup gets the perfect present from his humans: 800 tennis balls, just for him. He is clearly overwhelmed by his excitement as he bursts through the doors and tries to decide which one he wants to play with first.

Only the best for this beautiful birthday boy! Something tells me it won’t take him a full year to work his way through all those new toys.
