This pup went blind at six months old.  Perhaps he has such a vibrant life because he was able to adapt to his disability from such a young age.  He’s an absolute natural in the water, and he charms everyone he meets.

This dog was heartlessly discarded by a breeder, and when he was found was emaciated and being eaten by mites.  But he was taken in by a family who treated him like a prince, and he recovered.

Because of his traumatic past, some might think he’d have had a hard time adjusting to an attention-hogging baby, but Daizu was like another parent to the boy – his first friend, really.

Even though the baby didn’t always understand what Daizu was doing, he never stopped trying to engage him in play.  As he got older, the boy would play tug-of-war with him, and Daizu was as gentle as ever.

Sadly, Daizu succumbed to a severe respiratory infection in October.  He was eight years old.  Because of the wonderful experiences Daizu had with this boy, it is likely that he will always love and be kind to animals.

Shortly before Christmas, a little boy’s beloved dog, Kase, went missing.  He and his family searched the neighborhood for him, but couldn’t find him.  Recently his mom did, and the reunion he has with Kase will completely melt your heart.

Paula Williams of Lubbock, Texas, was devastated for her son, who was dearly missing his dog.  About a month later, she saw Kase at a neighbor’s home.  She asked them to give him back, and discovered that they had been caring for him since he had gotten loose.

“He was found right down the street from our house. A nice family had taken him in and kept him warm and fed,” she said on Facebook.

When Paula arrived to pick up her son from his grandma’s house, she had the best surprise ever.

The biggest faults of pit bulls:  they snuggle too hard, they smooch too much, and they try too hard to please their people.  Sometimes they fail miserably, and sometimes they fail adorably.  This cutie gets an A for effort!

Pit bulls adore showing off for their humans, so when four-year-old Kailyn decided to practice her cartwheels, naturally, Oakland wanted to show that he could do them, too.  The pair then finished the floor routine together.

Since this video has gone viral, poster Jacqueline Sloan Ziegler has set up a Facebook page for her goofy boy to show the world just how wonderful rescued dogs – especially pit bulls – truly are.

Oakland was adopted from Pit Happens Rescue, which has plenty of other terrific dogs who need homes where they, too, can have a chance to shine.

The dog in the homemade box-cart is called Pao.  He is 16 years old, so if one human year is equal to seven dog years, Pao is 112!

His human, Ootsuki has such great love and respect for his canine buddy he decided Pao should be ale to relax a bit more. He built Pao a wheeled box, so instead of having to walk everywhere, Ootsuki pulls him around.

Dogs that make it to Pao’s advanced age often have hip and joint issues.  We’re positive that Pao really appreciates being able to get some fresh air, but doesn’t have to put such a strain on himself to do so.

Ootsuki says it’s all about respect.  He lives his life by the motto, “Try to be as nice a person as your dog thinks you are.”  Maybe if we all did that a bit more, the world would be a better place.
