In the video, you will see a disabled Pit Bull named Auggie playing happily with a rescued street dog named Brindy. Auggie was rescued from euthanization, and Brindy was once a street dog in Thailand. And now these two have a loving forever home!

Disabled Boy And Lame Dog Help Each Other Learn To Walk

Tommy Jones is a little boy who was thought to be unable to walk due to a birth complications and a bout of meningitis. Tommy’s parents wanted to cheer up their little boy. So they got him a Chihuahua pup named Bobo. Bobo is going through the same struggle as Tommy. He was dropped when he was a puppy and that resulted in a badly broken leg that didn’t heal properly. Bobo could barely walk. Tommy’s parents thought that with Tommy taking care of a dog who is sharing the same struggle as he is, it may help him deal with his own affinity.

When Tommy and Bobo met, they became fast friends. But that’s not all. Something amazing happened–after just a few weeks, they both started walking! They took their first steps together–it’s a miracle!

This Dog Was Severely Disabled And Needed Help Walking – No One Wanted Her. This Family Decided To Step In Big Time.

We love hearing about rescue stories from our readers. Each one is as unique and special as the dogs and people involved.

But, every once in awhile, you hear a story that just blows your mind. The heart, patience and love that this family shows toward a dog that everyone else considered “unlovable,” and “not worth the air space,” will restore your faith in humanity.

A little white dog sat at the Humane Society in California waiting for nothing. Annabelle was on the list to be euthanized because no one wanted to take responsibility for her. She is missing the part of her brain that controls balance as well as a right rib and ovary.

Tammy Stodghill tries to share as many homeless dogs that are in shelters as she can on her Facebook page.

“I had seen Annabelle on the shelter’s post in November 2011 and shared it and told my husband [Greg] about her,” she says. “We were both so sad for all she’d been through and really hoped she’d find a home

When the family came back from their yearly trip to Florida, she saw Annabelle was still available – and out of time. She called to find out about her.

The society had had a temporary foster for a few months, but they didn’t want to do it anymore. People did respond to the Facebook posts about her, but the responses were not what they wanted to hear.

“Most of them said things like ‘I would love to have her and she can stay in my bathroom while I’m at work,’” explains Tammy. “They didn’t want that for her as she indicates when she needs to go potty by panting and moving her front legs, but you have to be there to see it and take her out to go or she would be laying in her own urine or feces. They also, sadly enough, got calls saying ‘she is a waste of air’ and ‘why wouldn’t you put her down?’ Unreal.”

“Their best guess was that a puppy mill bred her then decided they couldn’t sell her so they left her on the side of the road hidden in some bushes,” Tammy continued. “A woman finally spotted her, but by then she was dehydrated, completely flea infested and very sick, suffering with toxoplasmosis. The wonderful vet staff at the Humane Society nursed her back to health and then no one wanted the burden she posed.”

The facts were this:

Annabelle can’t walk or even stand or lay upright, without being propped up.
She has a four-wheel cart, but can’t really move around in it due to her neurological issues.
She has to be taken out to potty and walked in a sling.

“They made us sign a form saying that they couldn’t guarantee her lifespan, and at the time, we hesitated,” she remembers. “However, we are so glad we went through with the adoption as the life we are giving her is one in which she knows she is loved.”

Annabelle is now 5 1/2 years old.

“She is the light of our lives and reminds us every day that you are as happy as you think you are,” Tammy says. “Our other dogs adore her and allow her to cuddle with them whenever she wants.

And despite the original prognosis from the Humane Society, Annabelle has mastered her cart – just look at her go!

Disabled dog is allowed to run for the first time ever, thanks to his 3D printed legs

Derby is a dog born with underdeveloped front legs. Running for him was almost impossible, and he often got injuries from scratching the ground with his face. A common wheelchair improved his situation, but limited his speed and his ability to interact with other dogs. Derby’s best chance to live a normal life and run for the first time ever came from Peace and Paws, the no-kill shelter that saved him from being euthanized, and a pair of new generation 3D printed prosthetic legs. He is still in the process of learning how to use his new legs, that will be gradually substituted with bigger ones. Derby now runs 2 to 3 miles a day with his humans, and as you can see from the video, he looks totally happy with his new legs.

A 5 lb. Dachshund Cares for a 500 lb. Disabled Lion. This Will Touch Your Soul!

This unlikely friendship is just incredible! Lions are known to be the king of the jungle. They are one of nature’s deadliest predators. Who would’ve thought that a 500 lb lion would become friends with three Dachshunds!

However, Bonedigger is not your usual lion. Bonedigger is friends with 3 little Dachshund dogs! When they first met, it seems that the puppies instinctively knew that Bonedigger has a metabolic bone disease. Bonedigger was just 4 weeks old when they met and it seemed like the puppies wanted to protect him. One of Bonedigger’s doggy friends is named Milo. Milo is especially close with Bonedigger; he loves to take care of him and even imitates Bonedigger’s roar! Watch the video of their amazing friendship below!

Dogs are such amazing loyal creatures. They don’t care how rich or how poor you are. And the video below will prove just that. An 86-year-old man named Fu has the most faithful companion. Fu is disabled, and has been begging for 6 years in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province in China. His loyal dog pushes him around on the wheels he uses to move around. Watch the video below and see the friendship between Fu and his dog!

Dog Disabled from Life in a Cage Is Finally Free!

With all the horror stories we have seen and shared this year, words like “heartbreaking” don’t seem to mean much anymore. It’s really sad, as we shouldn’t have to use them so often.

That said, there really is no better word to describe Gargoyle, who we received a plea on from a GA shelter last night. This sweetheart of a boy is said to be 1-2 years old and as you can see, he is dwarfed. He is emaciated, his legs are basically folded in half and his spine is curved. To look at him, you would guess he’d been forced to grow up in & live in a small cage. Well, guess what? You’d be right! Where do these monsters come from that walk amongst us?!

After feeling heartbroken, the next normal response is anger. How could anyone do this, how could this possibly have been allowed to happen?! And it makes one feel even worse because this boy is a complete mush. You’d think he’d be angry and frustrated and difficult, but he’s not. Like most abused dogs we meet, he just wants to give and receive love.

Sadly, we cannot spare him the pain he’s already lived, but we can get him the medical attention he urgently needs and help him have the best future possible!

He is currently at our vet and will receive a full orthopedic consult & we are committed to doing whatever it takes to give him the very best quality of life possible.

Will you help us help him? He will never be referred to as Gargoyle again. His new name is Landis and he will only know compassion, love and kindness moving forward.
