ITV Network’s show called Me And My Guide Dog followed 22 puppies who are bred to become service animals, and documented their growth, development and individual journeys. In the clip below, we meet guide dog owners Mark and Claire, who live in England. Mark, who has been blind his entire life, met Claire, who lost her sight in her 20s, at training classes for each of their seeing-eye dogs, Rodd and Venice.

The lively pups sparked their own romance before inspiring the love between their owners to blossom.

“During the training, Rodd and Venice seemed to know something we didn’t. They were always playing together and nuzzling up together.” says Mark.

What happened next is absolutely beautiful. The bond between the dogs lead to a connection between Mark and Claire, and less than a year later, the couple was engaged! What’s even more incredible is the role these matchmaking pups played in the pair’s wedding. Walking the bride and groom down the aisle and acting as ring bearers on the big day, Rodd and Venice have truly been part of this beautiful love story every step of the way.

Around 10:00 p.m. that night, neighbors heard desperate cries coming from a well located in a construction zone. After checking, they realized a dog had fallen down and needed help.

Firefighters, José Luis Pinela, Javier Herrera, María Giménez, Luis Miguel Maldonado, Maximiliano Díaz, Christian Ahumada, Juan Eduardo Bertuzzi, Esteban Figueroa and Esteban Ahumada, all members of the Mobil Unit #2, were dispatched to area. They thought out a plan and worked for hours to retrieve the four-legged victim.

The rescue took longer than expected, but their efforts paid off and the pet was hoisted to safety.

Once retrieved, the canine was reunited with his owner.

Neighbors are calling the firefighters true heroes. In a nation where animal welfare is not a priority, these service men did not hesitate to come out and save the four-legged friend.

According to Magic Valley News the pet owner did not see the dog go over the jagged cliff wall and only became aware of the accident after another dog standing on a ledge kept looking down.

Kuna Fire Department Capt. T.J. Lawrence said the pet owner made a wise call when he reached out to authorities for help, if he had attempted rescuing the pet, firefighters would have had to rescue an injured dog and owner.

Hero rescuers used safety ropes to descend about 12 feet down the canyon wall and then walked about 100 yards to reach the dog. Fortunately, Audi did not suffer major injuries from the fall. She had no broken bones or internal bleeding, only some scrapes and cuts, low body temperature and some blood loss.

Firefighters placed and IV on the pet before hoisting her up to safety. Audi was reunited with her owner, transported to a veterinarian a for a thorough checkup and later released. The dog is expected to make a full recovery.
