Italian firefighters have taken video of the rescue of the very lucky dog, and have posted it to various social media sites across the internet.  As one could imagine, the video quickly went viral.  After the damage the area has suffered from the 6.6-magnitude is quite a lot, so good news like this is just what’s needed there right now.

So far, estimates show that at least 15,000 are left homeless.  No one was killed or seriously injured, however the beautiful and historic Basilica of St. Benedict was lost.  The building was built in the 14^th century, and is considered a total loss.  Homes, buildings, and stores can all be rebuilt, and even though the loss of the historical sites is tragic, lives are still being saved, and many brave men, women and dogs are out there working hard to make a difference.

The biggest faults of pit bulls:  they snuggle too hard, they smooch too much, and they try too hard to please their people.  Sometimes they fail miserably, and sometimes they fail adorably.  This cutie gets an A for effort!

Pit bulls adore showing off for their humans, so when four-year-old Kailyn decided to practice her cartwheels, naturally, Oakland wanted to show that he could do them, too.  The pair then finished the floor routine together.

Since this video has gone viral, poster Jacqueline Sloan Ziegler has set up a Facebook page for her goofy boy to show the world just how wonderful rescued dogs – especially pit bulls – truly are.

Oakland was adopted from Pit Happens Rescue, which has plenty of other terrific dogs who need homes where they, too, can have a chance to shine.

We’re not sure if you caught it or not, but in case you did not, here’s Herbie. Herbie is a rescue dog, saved from the city pound in Chicago, Illinois by PAWS Chicago. A recent video making its way across the internet shows Herbie smiling for a piece of cheese, and it’s just 100 percent adorable.

The video was posted to PAWS Chicago’s Facebook page by Amanda Robles, with the following caption:

“Don’t you hate when people catch you trying to perfect your selfie smile? Herbert doesn’t seem to mind showing off his pearly whites to impress his future family (especially for the treat he was being offered offscreen).”
