They are and have always been the most loyal, loving, and fun pets you could ever own. I mean, they can literally tell you how much they love you. What other animal can do that! The argument is pretty much settled, but who doesn’t love more adorable proof?

One of the best parts of having a dog is that they’re so affectionate. They might not be the biggest fans of hugs, but they always want to be by your side and are ready at a moment’s notice for a good ol’ kiss attack. And don’t even get us started on how cute they are when they lay their head on your lap!

For this little girl, the only way to do nap time right is to snuggle up with her pup. And it looks like he loves it just as much! She kisses him good night and he returns the favor as she puts her arm around him.

It’s the cutest thing and we can only imagine her parents will show this video to everyone for the rest of her life. If only my golden retriever would lay still when it’s bed time!

Last year we shared with you the story of Karina and her dog Naida, who dutifully protected her when she spent nearly two weeks lost in the vast wilderness of Siberia.  Naida only left the girl’s side to find people to come rescue them, and recently a statue was unveiled at the Yakutsk Airport dedicated to their perseverance.

On July 29^th, 2014, Rodion Chikitova embarked on a trip to his native village.  Unbeknownst to him, his four-year-old daughter, Karina, followed him into the woods.  Their puppy, Naida, accompanied her.  Karina’s mother thought Rodion had brought her along, and it wasn’t until they spoke on the phone a few days later that their worst fears were realized.

Crews searched by air and land for five days with no trace of her.  Some of the men on the ground were even forced to fend off a bear.  Chances of finding the girl and pup alive in these conditions and 40-degree weather were becoming increasingly slim.  But after nine days, the dog returned to the girl’s village of Olom.

“Two days before we found Karina her puppy came back home.  That was the moment when our hearts sank, because we thought at least with her dog Karina had chances to survive –  night in Yakutia are cold and some areas have already gone into minus temperatures,” explained Afanasiy Nikolayev, spokesman for the Sakha Republic Rescue Service.

“If she was to hug her puppy, we thought, this would have given her a chance to stay warm during nights and survive.  So when her dog came back we thought ‘that’s it’ – even if she was alive – and chances were slim – now she would have definitely have lost all hopes.  Our hearts truly and deeply sank.”

But the dog didn’t just return – he came to get people to find her.  He led rescuers exactly to her.  Karina had been hiding out in some tall grass, which is why she couldn’t be spotted from above.

“Suddenly with the dog’s help we saw Karina siting in the grass. We rushed to her, got her a little tea and grabbed her to run back to the car and doctors,” Nikolayev said.  “I carried Karina myself to the car, and she was light as a bird. She weighed hardly 10 kilograms (22 pounds) – but amazingly she was fully conscious.”

Miraculously, the scantily-clad girl only suffered from mosquito bites and a few scratches to her feet.  She told rescuers how she survived by eating berries and drinking water from streams.

“Certainly she went with grandmother and parents to the forest, to gather berries. Perhaps this is why she was not afraid of the forest,” said rescuer Albert Semyonov.  “Karina herself is a very strong girl, has a strong-willed character. This probably helped her to survive.”

Karina’s grandmother, Emma, said that Karina’s first words to Naida when she returned were “Why did you leave me?”  But because of this wonderful dog, she survived and was found before anything bad could happen.  She made a complete recovery, and was for the most part unfazed by their sojourn.

Nikolay Chochchasov was inspired by the pair’s stoutheartedness, and created a bronze sculpture in their likenesses.  Karina recently celebrated her sixth birthday, around the same time the effigy was revealed by Yakutsk Airport’s general director, Nikolay Mestnikov.

Just recently, they were contacted about a severely abused dog. The poor dog was intentionally starved by a cruel person. This dog was at the brink of death; she was just skin and bones when they rescued her. She was so malnourished that her organs started shutting down.

They named the poor dog Angel. Sadly, Angel was dying. Only a miracle could save her.

Many volunteers came to support Angel and give her hope. One of them was this sweet little girl.

Angel may have little hope in surviving, but Rescue From The Hart didn’t give up on her. Watch the video below and see how they saved this sweet dog.

Just like in the fairy tales, this princess suffered a tragedy before she got her happy ending. Siena, now four, grew up with a sweet long-haired Chihuahua named Rabbit, whom taught her a lot about how to treat a dog. Rabbit instantly fell for the little princess the day she came home from the hospital, and laid with her, cuddled with her, and even shared her car seat as Siena grew.

I wish I was Sierra. This little girl knows dog language and she speaks it fluently! I also want to be able to communicate well with my dogs too!

Now, I wonder if there are a lot of dog dialects. Does the German Shepherd speak a different language than let’s say, a Dutch Shepherd. Can the Belgian Malinois understand the German Shepherd and do all Poodles speak French? Could there be a universal dog language like English

When asked about how she felt having her dog back after such a long time, Phoenix said, “Really happy and excited!”

Jennifer, Phoenix’s mom had learned that Tilly had been located only a day or so before the Friday reunion.  She had been in the vehicle at the time the call was received, and could barely contain her excitement.

“I actually had to pull over, because I got the word on my way home from work,” she said.  “I think I screamed in my car.”

When Tilly was first lost, the family spent as much time as they could looking for her.  They searched everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.  Tilly did have a collar with identification on it.  She was also chipped, and the information on that was up-to-date as well.  It seemed as if they would never see Tilly again.

Tilly was finally located and brought to Lost and Found Pets of Lexington, Kentucky.  This is where Tilly came in contact with Christine Stoops, who would eventually drive Tilly all the way to Salt Lake City, Utah for the happy reunion.

“This is one of the best experiences I could ever be involved in,” said Christine.  “It was absolutely worth it.  I can’t ask for anything more than seeing Phoenix’s face, along with Jennifer, and just being a part of bringing Tilly home.”

Christine said the trip home for Tilly was covered by donations.  For Phoenix and her family, they feel a bit more complete having their Tilly home, safe and sound, with them.
