When you’re a little one, and you’re lucky, your mom or dad might bring you a glass of milk if you asked politely. But now that you’re all grown up, that’s much less likely to happen!

When this little kitten walks up to a sleepy dog’s food bowl, Hershey the pup watches on, curious to see what happens next. He’s not sure what this little ginger kitten, named Oliver, is going to do with his precious food. He looks on longingly, as if he’d like some of that kibble, but is just too tired to get it for himself.

The curious kitten continues to sniff out the pup’s food. Oliver knows that he’s not supposed to eat puppy food, but it sure does look like he’s about to break the rules while his human isn’t watching.

Then, he picks up a singular piece of kibble out of the bowl. What does he do next?

Carly the Chihuahua, and her huge Newfoundland brother Silas was put on their backyard by their owner–Sharon Dooling, at around 8pm; probably to give them time to do their business before going to bed.

After less than a minute, Sharon Dooling then heard Carly barking hysterically. It was as if she was telling her something. When Sharon opened the door to see what Carly’s yapping was all about, she saw a man who hooked up a leash onto Silas’s leash and was dragging him down the driveway.

Sharon told CBC News, “I said, ‘Excuse me, what are you doing?’ he told me he’s taking his dog and I said, ‘No, you’re absolutely not.‘” Sharon then somehow gathered up the courage to punch the would-be dog thief, scaring him away.

Sharon credits Carly for helping his big brother from being dognapped. If it wasn’t for her yapping that warned Sharon about thief, Silas would’ve been taken by the man.

Senior Airman Rob McKnight doesn’t know how to thank the community of strangers that came together to find and rescue his beloved pet Lola. McKnight adopted the dog while he was stationed in Japan with his family, and this June the family moved back to Wisconsin.

Lola and Lexi made the trip to their new home on June 9, 2015, they were staying with McKnight’s parents in Colgate, Wis., but two days after arriving Lola went missing.

The Air Force mechanic couldn’t imagine coming to his new home and not have his pet there to greet him, and when animal lovers from Colgate heard the pet was lost they came together to help the McKnights and local authorities find Lola. On June 16, 2015, just five nights after disappearing, Lola was found.

“It was a hot dog and a loop leash. That’s all it took,” McKnight told Fox 6 Now.

Volunteers covered hundreds of miles searching for the lost dog and when spotted, the pet was lured with a tasty hot dog.

“You know, you don’t come across animal lovers like that very often — that are just willing to drop everything and go out and help a single family and we are very blessed to have that,” said McKnight’s wife, Alissa.

Lola lost a few pounds and had injured her paws while on the run, but with some TLC and lots of food she is expected to make a full recovery.
