Barnabas the kitten was very sick and had to be bottle-fed. Gypsy was immediately drawn to him, “cleaning him like a mother cat would do,” their owner Cheri Desmarais told LittleThings.

“I was not nervous at all about introducing Gypsy and the kitten. Gypsy had already been great with other animals, even the baby chickens on my mom’s farm,” she said. “We were all touched as well when the adoption took place.”

After a little TLC, Barnabas was nursed back to health, and the pair inseparable ever since. The family’s YouTube video shows just how lovable pit bulls can really be, regardless of the vicious reputation they’ve been given. The tiny kitten tries to snuggle up to the pit bull. Even when the cat tries grabbing the dog’s ears and play, the pit bull doesn’t even flinch. As you’ll see in the pictures below, Gypsy might be one of the most patient and loving pets.

When it comes down to it, true friendship knows no boundaries. At least, that’s the message this monkey and puppy duo are giving to the world.

Earlier this month, a rhesus macaque monkey in Rode, India decided to rescue a puppy and take it in as her own. She even defended the little guy from stray dogs, in quite an aggressive manner.

When feeding the puppy, she even allows it to eat first. It’s basically a match made in wild animal heaven.

The monkey continues to care for the puppy as if she gave birth to him.

The locals were so touched by this act of affection that they began to help them out and leave food for them to eat.

Zee News reported, “People who have seen them spoke of their strong mutual affection and described their bond as the most caring thing in the world- to take care of a puppy in danger and protect him like a parent. Their undying affection gives us a valuable lesson about relationships. “

Sounds like an adorable Disney movie waiting to happen, am I right?

On a recent episode of Pit Bulls and Parolees (a show about the Villalobos Rescue Center, a hybrid rehabilitation shelter that rescues Pit Bulls and provides a work program for parolees), Mouse was brought into the home of an elderly couple, and they are absolutely beside themselves with joy to begin sharing their lives with this friendly rescue pup.

And for Mouse, the long-awaited union is well deserved. Over ten years ago, the Pittie mix was found amidst the tragic aftermath of Katrina. She was holed up in an attic, though it wasn’t that of her owners; rescuers figured that she must have floated in through a window, when the flood waters were at their highest. Once the floods receded, she stayed in the space for shelter–for three weeks. It is a mystery as to how she survived that long without food or clean water.

But somehow, Mouse had an unshakable will to live. And good things come to those who wait–years later, she has finally found a home!

As you can tell from the video, there’s no doubt that Mouse has been paired with the perfect humans to love and care for her forever. The best part about this story is plain to see: as ecstatic as Mouse is to be rescued by this loving family, her new parents are just as thrilled to be rescued by her.

A week-old fawn who may have been abandoned by his mother likely wouldn’t have survived had he not been found by some farmers in Germany.  But because of their help, and his new puppy mom, he is thriving.

It is unknown what happened what happened to the baby deer’s mother; she may have been killed, or simply abandoned her young.  He was found near a hop field in Regensburg by a farmer who happened to know a family who had raised deer before.

The family named the fawn Hansi, and with bottle-feeding and love, nursed him to good health.  But the family member who loves him the most is 12-week-old Australian shepherd puppy Lia.

Her motherly tendencies – or perhaps sisterly – developed early, and after only a few weeks the two are inseparable.  They spend all day playing, romping around, and snuggling together.

Pet photographer and microbiologist Anna Auerbach has got their endearing relationship on film.

“The two of them get along really well. Hansi sees Lia and the other dogs she is being brought up with as family,” she explained.  “The shoot only took about 30 minutes. All I had to do was lie on the grass and wait for the right moments – there were so many.”

The wee lamb was born on May 17^th at a farm near Winnipeg.  She was swiftly abandoned by her mom, but as good fortune would have it, as dog at the farm took a liking to her.

One-year-old golden retriever Tammy fell in love with Stormy and “adopted” her.

“I was outside working all day, and I’d turn around and they’d be (lying) under a tree sleeping, or just hanging out,” said Cathy Fleury, the girls’ mom.  “They actually crawled up on the porch once and they were sleeping up there.”

As they are completely inseparable, it has been decided that Stormy will live at the farm forever.

The small dog is named Neymar and according to TeleCinco, the 29-year-old pet owner was sweeping glass when officers arrived at the home. The pet owner told authorities he had just gotten home and found the broken glass and the dog crying. However, a few minutes later he confessed the pet had run away a few weeks back and he had beaten the dog to teach him a lesson.

Officers arrested the man and rushed the dog to a vet clinic where veterinarians discovered the dog had a broken leg and a collapsed lung. The dog was coughing up blood and needed emergency surgery to save his life.

Neymar’s abusive owner surrendered him after he admitted not having funds to cover for the dog’s treatment. The officers who responded to the animal abuse call came together and paid for the dog’s surgery.

After the surgery, one of the officers decided to adopt Neymar, and once he was strong enough, the officer made the adoption official and took the little dog home.

Neymar will never again be abused and he now has a band of police officer brothers looking out for him at all times.

Mount Pleasant resident Shannon Williams ended up caring for the litter of motherless kittens when her daughter found them in the woods behind their home. As soon as she saw the helpless babies, Shannon’s 5-year-old Boston Terrier Memory began nurturing and cuddling with the days-old kittens.
