Lola was taken from his yard on the 7600 block of Brunache Street in Downey, which is near Las Angeles.  According to LeClair, a young boy saw a woman in a red car pull up to the home and take Lola while he was on his walk home from school.  When the boy asked what she was doing, she told him that the dog was going to the vet.

No one has seen Lola since that time.  She’s not shown up on any social media sites as of yet, but almost every available person in Downey is looking for this woman in a red car, but more importantly looking for Lola.  The dog happens to be very well known in the area, and many of LeClair’s neighbors and friends are putting up flyers and canvasing the area.

“For the last week and a half, day and night, I go to bed thinking about her, I wake up a time or two at night thinking about her.  I guess you call it grieving,” LeClair said.

This year hasn’t exactly been the easiest for LeClair.  First he lost his daughter, then he was in a car accident, and now someone has stolen his best friend from him.  As stated before, LeClair doesn’t want to start any trouble, he just wants his dog back.  Anyone with information on Lola’s whereabouts is asked to call 562-923-3364.  LeClair is offering a reward, and says that there will be “no questions asked” as long as Lola is returned to him safely.

“I do not know how he got all these dogs, but I do know he sold puppies to people,” Humane Society Director Karen Matson said. “He clearly loved them, they’re all of good weight, but these (dogs) do need some grooming.”

Regardless of the condition they were brought to the shelter in, all of them will be getting a full medical evaluation. They will all be groomed and cleaned up, and all of them will be available for adoption very soon.

“They’re pretty cool,” said Matson, “though they’re maybe less social than some people would like. But once we spend more time with them we’ll get to know their personalities.”

Most of the dogs are thought to be Bichon/Maltese mixes, and although some of them are still getting adjusted to being in a shelter, many of their personalities are starting to shine through. Some of the dogs are still a bit jumpy and nervous, however when someone’s interacting with them, they calm right down.

“We’re not sure why some people would keep so many dogs; loneliness, maybe,” Matson said. “Some people might prefer animals over people — I don’t know.”

As stated before, all of the dogs will be groomed up and then be placed as available for adoption. As for now, the Broome County Humane Society is asking for donations to help them care for all sixty of the dogs while they are still there. They are also asking for help from people willing to volunteer their time to help care for the dogs as well.

Facebook used Liz Marie was the one to come across Boo lying with the trash at the curb.  In her Facebook post, she describes how heartbroken she was just at the sight of him.  Her post came to the attention of Devin Oliver, the founder of the Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue.  He knew he had to go get him right away.

This picture absolutely breaks my heart, I am literally in tears. Meet Boo, this beautiful boy was left behind with the trash and belongings when the family moved out. He stayed right by their stuff and never left it, confused and lonely. He was rescued by Mike Diesel after a neighbor contacted him because Boo had been discarded outside for over a week. Mike spent 11 hours working to gain Boo’s trust so he could rescue him. He is being cared for by Mike and the Detroit Youth and Dog Rescue (which he founded). It wasn’t easy.  Oliver took several days building trust with Boo before he could be rescued.  It was a lot of hard work, but it’s just what Oliver does.  Boo was eventually brought to a vet, and aside from being very hungry, thirsty, and understandably depressed, Boo was in good condition.

The whole rescue program is actually run through fosters, and does not have a physical address of its own.  Since 2014, Oliver and his team have been able to rescue and rehome about 75 dogs.  Boo has gotten some attention through social media, and some people have even called asking about him.  However, no one has stepped up yet.

Truman is a neutered two-year-old Labrador retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He has a very long story that includes near death when he was first found as a stray with Lepto. He is currently in a loving Foster home in Rhode Island.

Young Truman is a very special dog. He is absolutely adorable, the photos don’t do him justice. Everyone who meets Truman quickly falls in love. He is young, and sweet, and affectionate. Truman likes to take a walk but does not require a ton of exercise. He is what we would call medium energy. He has made a few dog friends over the last few months, and tons of human friends!

Truman does have a condition called a rare muscular condition called Myasthenia Gravis and as a result, he also has Megaesophagus. He will need to eat upright for the rest of his life but he has a special chair that props him up for meals. The chair, all of his supplies and lots of support comes with Truman when he finally finds his forever home. We are happy to provide as much support as needed to his adoptive home in helping them learn about MegaE.

Truman knows his basic commands, he is potty trained, crate-trained, and walks very well on a leash.

The dog was being reported by motorists on the I-290 highway as weaving in and out of traffic and scared.  Some of the motorists were even trying to get to the dog, to keep anyone from hitting her or worse.  Try as they may, they just couldn’t grab her, and by the time the police showed up, she was long gone.

Early this morning, someone that had set out a live trap noticed that they actually had something.  There was the dog that was running around on the I-290, finally safe and sound.  For now, the dog is being held at Worcester Animal Control.  Staff there is hoping to reunite her with her humans as soon as possible.

In Louisville, Kentucky at the Veranda at Norton Commons apartments, animal services came cross a report of a dog found in the trash compactor.  The dog had a few scrapes and bruises, but otherwise was in good health.  The Metro Animal Services of Louisville is now seeking help in finding the dog’s humans, or the people responsible for putting the dog in there.

The dog was discovered by a maintenance worker at the apartments.  He went to turn on the trash compactor, but it wouldn’t start up.  Upon inspection of the compactor, Troy Kennon said that he saw a dog cage that appeared to be empty.  He soon realized that it wasn’t, when the dog poked his head out.

Kennon knew it wasn’t one of the dogs that belongs with any of the people living in the complex.  He’s worked there for a while, and says that he’s familiar with all of the dogs living there.  This was one he’d never seen before.

Leslie Hawk with Metro Animal Services of Louisville says the search for the dog’s humans is now on.  He didn’t have a microchip on him when he was brought into their shelter, nor any identification tags.  So as for now, it’s unknown if the dog is missing, had been stolen, or (hopefully not) was put into the compactor by his family on purpose.

An animal cruelty investigation is underway in Riverside County, California.  An unidentified dog was found with his muzzle wrapped up with rope.  The dog had been abandoned, and now authorities are asking for help from the public in identifying the dog and finding his abuser, so justice can be served.

The dog was discovered by a woman around 7 pm yesterday, while walking along Granite Hill Drive near Pedley Road.  The dog is assumed to have been dumped in that area very recently.  The woman that came across the helpless dog called the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.

A sheriff’s deputy was sent to the scene, and managed to get to the dog and cut off the ropes binging his mouth closed.  According to John Welsh with county animal services, the rope was tied so tightly, it was almost impossible to get it off.

“There was very little space for him to get his knife between the dog’s muzzle and the rope to cut it.  That’s how tight it was around him,” said Welsh.

The dog is approximately 2 years old, and other than the obvious, was in pretty decent physical health.  He’s said to have a very sweet disposition, despite the abuse that he’s had to endure.  He has been taken to the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley.  While there he was checked for a microchip, but does not have one.

Authorities are asking for any and all information that anyone may have on the dog.  Who is he?  Is there a family out there looking for him, or was he horribly abused and dumped off by some one?  Animal services wants to know, and they are asking anyone with information to come forward

They are going to need more than $4500 to meet their goal.  If they can, they will put the funds towards the 40 elevated beds.

The shelter is owned by the city.  They house up to 70 dogs daily, housed in 54 kennels.  There they await the forever home they desperately need, and sometimes, not everyone gets a bed.

The shelter does whatever it can to help thing out.  For now, many of the dogs are lying on blankets and mats that the shelter staff is putting down for them, but they hope to make that a short lived thing.
