Michael Baines is a chef in one of the restaurant’s in Chonburi, Thailand. Each day when he goes to work he stops at least eight times to feed 30 dogs and when the morning rush is over at the restaurant, he collects all the leftovers and goes on another round to feed another 30-35 dogs, plus six or seven that wait on him outside his restaurant. It is the same routine when he is on his way home, he feed about four or five dogs. He befriended a lot of dogs, but some of them are still afraid of him because of the constant abuse in the past by other people.

There are a lot of stray dogs in Thailand, but they are not treated well as people consider them more like a nuisance. Michael says: “Many people see an animal here and will hit the dog with sticks, stones and machetes, and use knives or kill them with guns.” There is a small dog shelter in his town but dogs don’t receive a proper care there.

Michael not only feeds these dogs, he also gives them medicine if they are ill, powders them every month to safeguard against worms, ticks, and fleas and gets them spayed and neutered. When some of the animals are particularly sick, he keeps them at his restaurant while looking for the families who would like to adopt them. For now, this mission was 100% successful.

“I have helped find homes for around 30-40 dogs, not including my own 9 + 4 (the 4 stay with my ex-wife)”

He also tries to encourage people to adopt mutts like he has instead of purebreds. “One of the best feelings,” he shares, “is when you have an old dog who has been abused all her life and you can actually touch them and hug them. It can take two years, but when it happens, it is amazing.”

In China, there is a two-legged, female stray that has given birth to puppies, and even with her disability she still cares for her family and makes sure none of her puppies are in harm’s ways.

The momma is known as Shi Bao, and she wasn’t always homeless. Her owner abandoned her and she took refuge near Kouguan railway station in Datong, Shanxi Province. Unfortunately the abandoned pet lost her hind legs in an accident. Locals believe she was either hit by a car or run over by a train, but either way, she survived and has been fending for herself ever since.

Shi Bao gave birth to healthy, beautiful puppies, all have their four legs. Every day, the two-legged momma guides her babies around the train station while they scavenge for food. The heroic mom makes sure her children are always near her and far from harm.

We know animals in China are not as well protected by laws as other animals in other countries, but we hope that Shi Bao and her babies find a Good Samaritan or animal rescue organization that would take them in put an end to their lonely and harsh days on the streets. All animals deserve a loving home and Shi Bao has proved she is worthy of true love and a happily ever after.

Lucky for the dog this man only had good intentions and as soon as he managed to him out of the truck, he took him to the vet and started taking care of the dog. Most importantly, he started to love the dog. In the next video, we can see the amazing impact the man had on the dog’s life – it’s impressive.

On the second video, filmed a few days after he found the dog hiding under his truck, we can see that the dog is clearly healthier, and clearly well-fed. The difference in the look in his eyes is just incredible, we can tell he already trusts the man and it’s only been a few days.

This should serve as a lesson to everyone out there. When you see a stray dog try to give him some love, even if you can’t adopt him yourself, take him to the vet, feed him, tell your friends about him, call the authorities. Just don’t leave him all by himself; the world is too cruel to be left alone.

The stray’s name is “Negrita” (Spanish for black), she was roaming the city streets of Rivadavia and due to her advanced pregnancy and under weight state, the elderly couple who found her took her home. They cared for the momma dog and helped her deliver her babies. Once the puppies were weaned, they were re-homed to loving responsible homes.

Negrita felt at home with the elderly couple, but her humans felt they were too old to own a dog. They contacted a friend living in Jáchal and made arrangements to transport the dog to her new home.

Two weeks after re-homing Negrita, the dog disappeared from her new home. Her new owner searched for her but was unable to find her. Weeks later Negrita showed up in Rivadavia again.

Determined to get back to the humans, Negrita walked from Jáchal to Rivadavia until she arrived at the elderly couple’s home. She was exhausted, hungry, skinny and hurt. Her paw pads were worn out from the long distance trek and after drinking water the dog found a comfortable spot in her home and slept for 24 hours.

The elderly couple contacted their friend in Jáchal to tell him Negrita was back with them. The man offered to pick her up and bring Negrita back to his house but the senior couple said Negrita was staying with them.

After walking 161 kilometers (about 100 miles) to get back to where she felt safe, there was no way the elderly couple were turning their back on her. Negrita was home to stay!

The group of criminals planned to attack the station using a grenade, but when Oso saw the gang members approaching he attacked the criminals and defended his home and friends.

Oso is considered a community dog and he has no K-9 police training. The loyal and wanna-be K-9 officer accompanies officers on many police calls and when he is “off-duty,” he takes his post outside the station until the next emergency call. He is very loved by all officers and at the station he is fed, bathed and looked after. He is even up to date with his shots.

The criminals were able to launch the grenade, but because of Oso’s actions, the gang members missed their target. However, the grenade did critically injured Oso. When officers realized they were under attack and spotted their injured mascot/fellow four-legged officer, they rushed the pet to their veterinarian.

Their quick action saved Oso’s life, but the true hero here is the stray who protected the police station and saved many of the officers’ lives.

Police representatives said Oso is not an ideal candidate for their K-9 unit because he is already nine years old and training will prove difficult, but we hope that once he is 100% healthy he gets officially adopted by one of his coworkers and his days as a community/stray dog are put to an end.

Here we have another woman who did everything she could just to earn the dog’s trust. Her name is Amanda. Amanda even got down on the ground in a fetal position and waited for the dog to get comfortable with her.

Amanda knew about the stray dog when she was tagged in a post about a dog up at Evan’s Creek, an off-roading-vehicle park. The poor dog was emaciated. It was night time when Amanda and her friend Dylan drove to the area to help the dog. They found him sitting by the roadside. They tried to coax him with some food, but that didn’t get them very far.

They then went back to town to get more food. When they returned the next day, they were more prepared. And they found the dog on the same spot. They named the dog Bear. But even with more food, they can’t seem to get near him. So Amanda got down on the ground in a fetal position.

Amanda crawled to Bear, and when she got nearer, Bear growled at first. Amanda made a whimpering, yawning sound- a calming signal. Then she drew nearer until she was right next to him. Then Bear began to cuddle with her.

After hours of trying to get close to Bear, he finally let her pet him. And after two hours of petting him, Bear allowed her to slip a lead on him.

They are still looking for Bear’s family. And if no one comes after 30 days, they will find him a loving forever home.

They were on a mission to accomplish the world championship of a 430-mile endurance race through Ecuador when they met a stray dog. One of the members of the team fed him. But they didn’t expect what happened next. The dog followed them all the way! They tried to avoid the dog because they were concerned about his safety, but the dog just kept on following them! A stray dog joined the Swedish team in the multi-sports Championships in Ecuador. Team captain Mikael Lindnord gave him a meatball —“ after that he chose Michael as his new master.

It all started with me giving Arthur a meatball when we we’re eating right before the long trekking. When we set off we did it with some other teams, and I didn’t understand that Arthur was following us until we were alone and he was still there. At one stage we had to take a break and the dog was totally wrecked. We opened two cans of food and let him eat, because he could find no food at all in the djungle.

When we got in to the TA, Simon was feeling very bad and we had a few hours stop here for him to get checked up by the medics. As we were leaving, the organisers adviced us not to bring Arthur, as it was a big dog and it could be unsafe on the water. But when we set off in the kayaks, he started swimming after us. It was too heartbreaking and we felt we couldn’t leave him, so we picked him up. We could hear the people cheer on the shore as we set off.

But he was kind of in the way during the whole paddle and we had to find different paddling tecniques to not kick him off board. A few times he jumped in to the water and took a swim, and then he crawled back up again and was freezing so he got to wear ourjackets. One time we got quite close to land and he jumped off and swam to the shore, and we thought that was the last we were gonna see from him. But he ran on the road for a bit and then he swam back to us.

When we finished, everyone wanted to ask about the dog and he has slept outside our hotel room tonight. Right now we’re at a café and he’s just lying here at our feet. We are looking in to the possibility to bring him back to Sweden.

Arthur is now coming with the team to Sweden on the same flight as the team, later to be quarantined in Sweden for four months and then move in with Mikael. It will cost $6700, but there is no doubt that Arthur is worth it.
