There are incredible people living among us. People who are truly selfless and have a passion for animals. Laura is one such person.

Laura who lives in Nashville, Tennessee was reading a story online about a small terrier that was hit by a car in Downey, California and left to die in the gutter when a Good Samaritan picked her up and took her to the animal shelter. Sophie was in bad shape. She had multiple pelvis fractures – she was in pain and unable to walk. Knowing that her time was limited and euthanasia was quickly becoming a reality at the understaffed and underfunded animal shelter, Laura started a mission to save her.

For days Laura called, emailed, faxed over 50 animal rescues in California pleading for assistance. Not one rescue responded. Why would they when the medical care for Sophie alone would cost thousands? Many rescues themselves are consistently overwhelmed and underfunded.

But one rescue saw Laura’s cry for help and did call back – Abandoned Terrier Rescue Association. Janet located in California went to pick up Sophie and rushed her to the Santa Margarita Animal Care Center in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Sophie immediately went into surgery to repair her crushed pelvis.

Within weeks post-op, Sophie is not only walking – she’s running. And Janet, the woman who pulled Sophie from the shelter, fostered her, ended up being her mom too.

The dog in the video below saved his owner from being bitten by a deadly Eastern Brown Snake. And FYI, most of the snakebite deaths in Australia is caused by the Eastern Brown Snake.

The dog chased the snake that slithered by the man’s feet. The dog’s actions alerted the man of the snake’s presence. He quickly got up and got his dog away from the snake. All of this was caught by the security camera. Checkout the footage below.

Wow! If it weren’t for that curious dog, the man would’ve been bitten by that snake. I’m glad that dog didn’t get bitten too!

Animals in nature will do whatever it takes to defend their babies, and humans will risk it all to ensure the safety of their young just the same. No matter where you go or who you speak to, there’s just a certain bond that will never be broken!

So when one man was driving down an old road in Romania, he was lucky enough to witness that love happen right in front of his eyes. And even luckier still, he actually had his car’s dash camera recording to capture the moment all on film!

The video is simple, but it really says it all. Two homeless dogs are trying to cross the road, but thankfully, the bigger and smarter mama dog was quick enough to pull her little baby back to safety and out of harms way.

While we’re overjoyed that this adorable duo is momentarily safe, it’s heartbreaking to think that these two might still be out there without a warm forever home to share each other’s company with.

This mother and baby duo is meant to be safe and sound, and we can only hope that someone who notices them will pull over and treat them with the love and respect that all animals deserve!

Her new technique, which she called “Nature’s Udder Mother,” was so effective that people all over the world have utilized it to save the lives of newborn pups that would have otherwise died from starvation.

As you can see in the video, Lilly Blossom took to the sponge technique without a hitch. Thanks to some quick thinking and a lot of love for dogs, Lilly Blossom is almost two and half years old. She’s full of energy and has a loving family that is thankful everyday for the kindness, and ingenuity, that Adele showed to little Lilly Blossom.

In Newfoundland Canada, a two-storey house was on fire at around 3 in the morning. The only person in the house at that time was a tenant living in the basement apartment, and with him was a Dachshund named Charlie. The man was asleep by the time the fire broke out. He was woken up not by the smoke alarm, but because of Charlie’s incessant barking. When he woke up, the basement was already covered with pitch black smoke. He was lucky that Charlie the Dachshund was there to warn him about the fire, or he wouldn’t have gotten out in time.

A female parking officer approached the vehicle left on Caminàs dels Hòmens street without a parking permit and started to issue the ticked when she heard strange sounds coming from the back of the car. The officer feared it was a dog an immediately called police officers for reinforcement.

Officers were dispatched to the location and they first tried to locate the car’s owner, but when the owner was not found and due to the extreme hot temperatures, police decided to break into the car and save the pet.

One of the car window’s was left opened and officers used the gap to insert an object to unlock the car doors. Once the doors were opened, officers opened the trunk and found an unconscious dog trapped under a bicycle.

Accordion to Las Provincias Barbita was minutes away from dying. She was dehydrated, had vomited and defecated in the car’s trunk.

Neighbors rushed to bring water for the pet and as soon as vitals signs were detected, the dog was transferred to a local veterinary clinic. Veterinarians worked to stabilize and save the pet and later relinquished her to Esperança Animal rescue group.

Authorities later identified the vehicle’s owner and charged him with felony animal cruelty and neglect. Now it is up to the legal system to penalize the pet owner for his criminal actions.

Jonathan Hardman and his dog Rambo went hiking on Mount Bierstadt in Pike National Forest with a group of friends. The hike began with what started out as beautiful weather.
But, after reaching the top, the group noticed it became windy and chilly, so they started heading down. But there was no warning of lightning from their vantage point from 14,000 feet in the air.

About five minutes after they began their descent, this “one cloud came out of nowhere,” Hardman said. “I just feel this intense, awesome pain and I wake up on the ground with blood filling the back of my sunglasses. I couldn’t move my arms or legs.”
Hardman had no idea that he’d been struck by lightning, especially not straight on the top of his head. He slowly started to move his fingers, noticing his hands had turned blue and purple.

Doctors say that Rambo saved the life of Hardman and likely members of his group, by taking the large brunt of the bolt’s electric shock.

“It was like everything that happened in the classroom became reality,” Jordan explained to Newsnet5.

He ran down to the fire station and alerted the crew on duty.  Over a dozen firefighters quickly arrived on the scene.

“In my 20 years of fire service, I have never been to a fire where there have been so many animals in one home,” said Assistant Fire Chief Will Anderson.

“Mostly all of them were brought out in poor condition.  Some were okay, but the vast majority of them required resuscitation.”

Tragically, one dog and one cat died of smoke inhalation, but the remaining sixteen dogs and one cat were able to be revived.  Anderson confirmed that homeowner Catherine Krzywicki was not home when the fire began in the kitchen.

The animal lover runs a foster shelter out of her house, providing a home for animals – many of them seniors – who have no other.  She is a member of the Central Ohio Pomeranian Rescue, and takes in dogs from Cleveland Animal Control.

A fundraiser was initiated to help Krzywicki and her furkids, and the goal was quickly met.  However, more could always be used on costly repairs and caring for all her pets.  If you would like to donate, please click here.

“Currently eight dogs still in ER. Thank you so much to everyone that has donated so far. Your generosity is helping care for these dogs in need. We will keep updating as we can.
