According to Nuevo Diario local residents couldn’t understand how the pooch reached the top of the footing, nevertheless they knew the dog’s new-found hiding place presented a greater danger and authorities were called for help.

Local firefighters Andrés Bertolino, Débora Montesinos, Yésica Sosa, Santiago Ledesma and Rodolfo Parrado were dispatched to the bridge and using ropes and ladders, they descended to the footing and successfully retrieved the homeless pet.

It took hero rescuers some time to gain the dog’s trust, but once he knew the men were there to save him, the dog allowed rescuers to place him inside a make-shift bag and hoist him to safety.

On February 1, 2016, a local rescue group by the name CC RezQs Regina took in the abused dog. They named her Arrow and rushed her to TM’z Veterinary Clinic where emergency surgery was performed.

“Arrow is considered the luckiest dog in the world,” CC RezQs said. The arrow narrowly missed her spinal cord.

TM’z veterinarian Gerad Cantin said this was the first case they’ve seen where an animal suffers an “intended lethal shot with a bow and arrow.”

Whoever is responsible for attempting against Arrow’s life has perfectly bad aim. The criminal missed the spinal cord and all major organs. The only damage done was the traumatic experiences she lived for two days and a wound that only needs weeks of rest, pain medications and antibiotics.

Veterinarians and rescuers expect the dog to be up and running like normal in no time.

As for the animal abuser, police are on the case tracking him or her down.

When he first arrived at the shelter, staff performed various tests to get to the root of the dog’s tummy problems, but all exams came back inconclusive. An x-ray revealed there was a blockage in the dog’s stomach, but it wasn’t until the surgery that rescuers learned the real cause of Ramsez’s problems.

No one knows for sure if the former stray ate the bear out of hunger or if it was a simple playful accident. One thing is for sure though, Ramsez loves teddy bears.

Since being rescued from life on the streets, the bear-eating dog has recovered from his surgery and has been adopted. He is now safe in a loving home and has new teddy bears to play with, however he is closely supervised while playing with stuffed animals.

Someone visiting the nearby small island of Playa Blanca captured the sad image above and immediately turned to social media and local animal rescuers to help the “invisible stray dog. The pet was sitting in front of a local police station, where not only police, locals and visiting tourists stood making plans for the new year, and even though officers and islanders knew of the dog’s existence, no one did anything to help her.

Saori was probably begging to be noticed and helped, and thanks to that image, her rescue and life change was just hours away.

The Facebook post pleaded for help:
“Could someone with a car please help us, we need someone who is willing to drive us to Playa Blanca to pick up this poor dog up and bring her to the clinic. I will never understand how people can go to Playa Blanca and see a dog in such a horrible state and continue to eat their lunch and not even share a bite of food with the dog. It is inhumane!”

Thankfully, a day later Cartagena Paws rescue secured transportation for the neglected dog. Saori was rushed to a vet clinic where Dr. Jairo found the pet suffered from skin ailments and advanced starvation. She was given fluids and was slowly given wet dog food, however Saori wouldn’t eat anything.

Accustomed to eating garbage and food scraps, rescuers slowly introduced chicken pieces and rice and the former stray started eating on her own.

Shawna-Lee, founder of Cartagena Paws, says the plan is to nurse Saori back to health and later transport her to a different city, Cali, where the dog will finish her healing process. The organization is collecting funds to cover all medical expenses and transport.

Saori has been under veterinary care for two days now and has shown great signs of improvements. She is a sweet-natured dog who was looking for was a bit of love.

It seems 2016 will be Saori’s year. She has been rescued and is on the right path to a better life.

On Nov. 22, 2015, the dog that spent two days barking, calling out for help in El Salvador’s Arenal River, near the town San Miguelito, was rescued after local residents contacted authorities.

According to ElSalvador.com, the river runs deep below a bridge and the area is not easily accessible. The dog spent most of the time in the water without any food, but he somehow climbed up to a rock he used as shelter and it was there where rescuers found him.

Animal lovers heard the dog’s barks throughout the weekend, but it wasn’t until Sunday morning when they found the dog. Authorities were called and rescuers equipped with a pet vest climbed down to the area to secure and rescue the dog.

Carefully, rescue team members hoisted the thirsty, hungry, scared but friendly dog out of the river.

A woman and avid animal lover heard about the dog in the river and rushed to the scene. She volunteered to adopt Payaso and keep him as loved family member. Now, the dog that once had no one or safe place to call his him has a loving family.

On Nov. 8, 2015, a photo of Great Pyrenees standing next to the body of his deceased street companion, just across the street from the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery circulated on Facebook. Thanks to that heart wrenching image, the loyal dog and friend was rescued.

Julie Fennell shared the image taken by Samuel Flores and tagged rescue groups hoping someone would come help the dogs. Animal rescue volunteer Jessy Fairfelick, saw the image and went to the scene of the accident to help the pets.

Fairfelick was able to secure the Great Pyrenees and take him to Dallas Animal Services. There, he was scanned for a microchip but unfortunately, none was found.

Don’t think the story of this loyal dog ends at the shelter where he will be forgotten. No, Dallas Animal Services placed the dog on hold to give his owners – if he has any – a chance to claim him. However, if no one comes, there is already a plan in motion to release this awesome dog to SPIN rescue, an animal organization dedicated to rescuing Great Pyrenees.

On October 20, 2015, the stray dog was walking the streets of his neighborhood in Piura, Peru, when he fell into a canal. The waters in the canal had a strong current and the pet got washed away. Luckily, local residents heard the dog’s frantic cries and rushed to look for someone who could help rescue the dog.

It was 7:00 p.m. and the night watchman was doing his rounds when neighbors approached him and asked if he could do something. The man rushed over to the canal and with the help of other neighbors they organized a rescue mission.

Using ropes and a stretcher, the dog was pulled from the waters. Boby was then taken to the watchmen’s office where he was bathed and fed.

The neighborhood security man adopted the dog and Boby now has a home, meals and most importantly love.

A building security guard spotted the stray dog. The pet was completely filthy and looking for a cool spot to take a break from the current heat wave felt in the city. The kind man couldn’t take the dog home, nor could he allow him inside his work place, but wanting to do something nice for the pet, he decided to give him a refreshing bath.

With the help of a passerby, the dog received the best bath ever. The four-legged friend seemed happy to have two people show him kindness. The dog cooled down and learned what it felt to be cleaned and loved for the very first time.

“That was a beautiful gesture these two men did,” said Luis Garay Barbarán who posted the images online for his community to see.
